As we fast approach December the school is a busy place with lots of excitement and smiling faces. We have had a successful anti-bullying week working on 'one kind word'. The pupils created posters and the winners will have their posters on display in school. Key Stage 2 were also invited to the first Chesterfield Careers Fair - pupils had opportunities to ask questions to a range of people from different professions including the Royal Air Force, Professional Chef and a footballer!
We wish you all a happy and safe weekend.

Attendance and Punctuality
At Chesterfield Primary School, we take attendance and punctuality very seriously as we want to give all our children the best possible start in life. There is a direct link between the amount of time children spend in school and the progress they make.
Classes with 96% and above:
15th -19th November 2021
Brazil 96%
England 96%
Everest 98%
France 96%
Ghana 100%
Peru 97%
Scotland 98%
Wales 96%
Well done!
We would like children to adopt good habits of attending and punctually. It is disruptive to your child and to the rest of the class when children arrive late. Latecomers may miss important information and teaching and children are often upset about going into classes late as they feel embarrassed.
5 minutes late every day
3 days of learning lost
10 minutes late every day
6 days of learning lost
15 minutes late every day
10 days of learning lost
30 minutes late every day
19 days of learning lost
However, we would rather your child comes to school late than not at all.
Christmas Crafts morning
On Thursday 9th December, we will be holding our first Chesterfield Christmas crafts morning. We would like to invite you to join your children in their classes between 9.00-10.30 to take part in some craft activities. We look forward to seeing you.
Our school Library
We are very excited to announce that our new school library will be opening on Tuesday 14th December. As part of this big event, two authors will be visiting the school to deliver an assembly to the children and then cut the ribbon to open our library. The children will have the opportunity to buy their books at a much reduced price of £1 or £2. If you would like to purchase a book please provide your child with cash on the day.
As the library is going to be in one of our old classrooms (and we can’t fit the whole school in) we will be selecting 3 children from each year group to attend the grand opening. These children will be the ones who we feel read the most. Please encourage your child to complete reading lessons on Reading Eggs/Eggspress as this will be how we select the lucky three from each year group.
Reading Eggs/Eggspress is already on their chromebooks and the children know how to access it.
Safeguarding children is all our responsibility.
Please let the school know if someone different will be collecting your child.
Please let the school know of any new mobile numbers. It is vital that all three contact numbers for each child are current.
