Religion and World Views

Welcome to our RE (Religious Education) and World Views page! At Chesterfield, we believe it's incredibly important for children to understand the diverse tapestry of beliefs, cultures, and traditions that make up our world.

Our RE and World Views curriculum provides a rich opportunity for pupils to learn about and learn from a variety of religious and non-religious worldviews. Through engaging enquiries and thoughtful discussions, children explore:

  • Major religions: Including Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism, Buddhism, and Judaism.
  • Non-religious worldviews: Such as Humanism, exploring how people make sense of life without religious belief.
  • Key concepts: Such as celebration, pilgrimage, sacred texts, and the impact of beliefs on daily life.

We encourage children to ask big questions, reflect on their own beliefs and values, and develop respect and empathy for those with different perspectives. Our aim is to foster an understanding of our shared humanity and the richness that diversity brings to our society.
