Welcome to our Design Technology (DT) page! At Chesterfield, we believe DT is an exciting subject where children get to be creative problem-solvers, turning their ideas into real-world creations.

Our Design Technology curriculum encourages children to think imaginatively, design purposeful products, and make them using a variety of materials and tools. From understanding how mechanisms work to designing and building structures, our pupils learn valuable practical skills and develop their understanding of how things are made and function.

In DT lessons, children will:

• Design: Generate ideas, plan, and draw their creations.
• Make: Select and use tools and materials safely to construct their designs.
• Evaluate: Test their products and reflect on how they could be improved.
