School Meals

At Chesterfield Primary School, we pride ourselves on the quality of our school meals, providing nutritious, healthy food served in an environment that promotes social interaction.

Since September 2014, all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 have been offered a free school meal at no cost to parents/ carers (for details, see the document below). 

The current cost for a school meal in KS2 is £2.57 a day or £12.85 a week. (An increase of 5p to  £2.52 from 19th April 2022)

If you would like to apply for free school meals the form is located below, you will need to take it with your proof of entitlement to Pupil Benefits at the Civic Centre, Enfield.

The school can provide support for parents in completing the relevant documentation.

As part of the school meals process, we share information with ParentPay about pupils' names   

If your child would like to change from packed lunch to school dinners or vice versa, they may only do so from the first day of a term or half term. If you do wish to do this, please speak to the office.

Your child in key stage 2 may be eligible to receive Free School Meals if you are entitled to any of the following:

  • Income Support
  •  income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
  •  Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
  • Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
  • Universal Credit - if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)
